Play and learning define the Chicago Children’s Museum. The mural design translates that mission into a large scale visual experience, turning the museum’s walls into a lively landscape shaped by curiosity, imagination, and discovery.
Spanning three connected panels, the murals combine children’s artwork from museum workshops with photography and hand drawn illustration. Familiar elements from exhibitions appear throughout, while each panel highlights a distinct theme, from interactive props to environments inspired by movement and water. Designed to connect visually across the space, the murals create moments of continuity as visitors move through the museum. The final work extended beyond the walls, later serving as the core visual language for the museum’s gala.
