In cities where neighbors remain strangers and familiar storefronts feel distant, everyday life can narrow into a private orbit. We move through routines surrounded by others yet rarely glimpse the worlds they carry with them. What is lost in that distance is not information, but understanding.
The World Only I Know explores this isolation through its double meaning: a world shaped by self-absorption, and the unseen inner worlds each person carries. Through direct interviews and conversations, personal histories were gathered and translated into a series of small books. Each volume foregrounds an individual life, inviting readers to step briefly beyond their own perspective. By listening and documenting, the project seeks to reconnect fragmented social threads and restore a sense of shared humanity.
